Happy Eid’l Fitr 1439 H for those who celebrate it!
Eid’l Fitr is a celebration of Ramadhan after fasting for 29 or 30 days. I had my Eid’l Fitr with my family in Makassar, Indonesia. It was my first time to visit my grandparents’ hometown.
What makes me excited about Eid’l Fitr?
1. Family’s Gathering
Eid’l Fitr is about family time. There is a tradition called sungkeman where you and your family members say sorry to each other. It is very personal and sentimental moment.
2. Food
Indonesia has a different kind of food. Most of the people will cook dishes based on their culture. That is why Eid’l Fitr so unique. I ate traditional food of Makassar, like konro, mie titik, es doger makassar, etc. Ooohh I ate a lot. They are the best of the best.
3. Eid’l Fitr Outfit
What I love about it is that I will wear something special. Something that I would not wear on any other occasions. I chose a dress made of net fabric with the color of soft grey. For me, it is like we need more transparency and gentleness to balance our life in this holy month. That is the reason I chose neutral and transparent fabric for the dress.
